BIGGEST DESIGN CHALLENGE: Disguising 50 tonnes of structural steel in the design while still making the home appear as thin and elegant as possible.

(Darren)

DESIGN ELEMENT I LOVE MOST: The feature tall glass pivot doors that flank the passageway leading to the indoor pool. (Darren)

BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE: Being able to enjoy a negroni while viewing the classic car collection. (Darren)

BEST THING ABOUT THIS PROJECT: The clients without a doubt, followed by the high level of detailing. (Mark)

FAVOURITE DESIGN DETAILS: The cocktail bar, the kitchen with 1.5km of individually machined fluted American oak in the parquet flooring, the pool, the opulent main en suite and the marble staircase. (Mark)

GARDEN DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: From the broader scale of visitor arrival through to the intimate outdoor living spaces, the landscape needed to complement the timeless architecture of the home. (Stephen)

BIGGEST CHALLENGE: Having a stream boundary on such an extensive property created challenges with setbacks and flood capacity. (Stephen) MOST SIGNIFICANT PLANTS: A collection of Juniperus chinensis ‘ Kaizuka’ cloud trees are natural sculptural elements that are beacons of interest amongst the linear house forms. (Stephen)
