The success story of local craft spirits producer Scapegrace, founded almost 10 years ago by Wānaka based brothers-in-law Mark Neal (left) and Daniel McLaughlin (right), along with Richard Bourke, is reaching new heights. A new $25 million distillery, designed by Nat Cheshire of Cheshire Architects, will be set over 36ha on the shores of Lake Dunstan, 30 minutes from Wānaka, and is set to open to the public in November 2023.
