WEST SIDE STORY

Fans of the original film version of this iconic Broadway musical from 1961 will be interested to see director Steven Spielberg’s contemporary interpretation, the release of which was delayed for a year due to the pandemic. Set in New York City’s Upper West Side during the mid 1950s, the story – loosely based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet – follows the forbidden love of Tony (Ansel Elgort) and Maria (Rachel Zegler) who are associated with rival teenage street gangs, the Jets and the Sharks. In cinemas 26 December.
