FAVOURITE SPOT TO SIT: Fireside on a stormy night – we have a stylish Stovax Studio 3 fire. Also appealing at any time is the kitchen’s reading nook bench seat. It’s a space from which to dream the day away with a good book or just your thoughts. Our lives have never been so peaceful. (Sarah) ARTWORKS OF NOTE: Frank Gordon is the creative force behind three of our artworks. The large piece in the dining area is a favourite and I commissioned Frank to paint one of the three children for Patrick’s birthday. It’s positioned at the end of the hallway. (Sarah)

A DESIGN FEATURE THAT WORKS PARTICULARLY WELL IS: The main living area fills one wing, while the other is dedicated to bedrooms, bathrooms and the laundry. Joining the two is the entrance area with sliding timber doors to close the wings off, which is great when we are entertaining and the children are in bed. This central area is also a perfect lounging area for our dogs – Coco the black labrador and recent addition Miso. (Patrick) FAVOURITE PLACE TO ENTERTAIN: Most of the entertainment happens around the 3.2m-long benchtop. I love to cook so guests gather round the bench to sip wine and snack from platters while I whip up delights from one of my many cookbooks. (Sarah) CHALLENGES OF THE SITE: When it blows, it really blows. The trampoline and basketball hoop are tied down to save them from ever ending up in a neighbouring paddock. (Patrick).
