• Christchurch Paeony have their second annual show coming up the Saturday after Show Day, November 12, at the Kiosk in the Gardens, just over the footbridge from the Armagh St Carpark. Entry is free to the show, 10am-4pm.

Enter your paeony bloom for judging. It’s free and it’s easy to do – just bring your blooms on November 11 to the Kiosk from 4-6.30pm. Cut as long a stem as possible. Blooms in the soft bud stage may be cut several weeks in advance and stored stripped of most leaves, wrapped in newspaper and placed in a plastic bag in the fridge, without water. They will hydrate very well. There are prizes for the various sections, so bring plenty of blooms!
