We love citrus too

Jo McCarroll wrote about her love of citrus in the July issue. She has not mentioned my favourite citrus variety though: ‘Ortanique’ which we inherited when we bought our place in the late 70s. It fruits later than our other citrus but carries an abundance of fruit, it doesn’t peel very easily but it is very juicy and so is great as juice, which is a bright orange. Unfortunately, it does have a lot of pips. Everyone I mention it to has never heard of it.
