My majestic monstera
I read with interest your story about the history of the monstera plant in New Zealand (March).
After moving to New Zealand in 2004, we bought a home on the North Shore. Sitting proud and noble next to our pool was a Monstera deliciosa. And with only a trim here and there she has maintained her regal stature ever since.
As the house was built in the 1970s, it is probably safe to say that it was planted around the time of the last monstera frenzy.
In the last few months there has been an abundance of fruit, but I have yet to get up the courage to indulge. Kathy Young, Auckland
