3 easy tips for prolific tasty Tomatoes!

There’s nothing like harvesting your own homegrown tomatoes. Here are 3 easy tips that can help you get large crops of healthy delicious toms:

STEP 1 Set-up for success

Incorporate Yates® Thrive® Granular Tomato Plant Food into the planting hole when planting your tomato seedlings or plants into the garden, greenhouse or pots. Set yourself up for success by incorporating this granular format early – a gradual feed tailored for tomatoes, that includes calcium to help prevent blossom end rot.

STEP 2 Fast food when they’re flowering!

If you forgot to feed earlier in the season, or your tomato has started flowering then you need fast feeding every 1-2 weeks – Yates® Thrive® Tomato Liquid Plant Food is perfect. When your tomato is flowering it needs more potassium which promotes fruit set, which in turn leads to more tomatoes! This liquid plant food delivers fast dual-action feeding, through both the soil and leaves.

STEP 3 Protect from pests

Protect tomato plants from common insect pests like fruit worm caterpillars, aphids and tomato potato psyllid (TPP) by applying Yates® Mavrik Insect & Mite Spray concentrate over the foliage every 7 – 14 days.
