SABRINA GHAYOUR is a UK-based Persian cook whose two previous books, Persiana and Sirocco, were bestsellers. In her latest work, Ghayour focuses on food for gatherings, with recipes divided into Breakfast & Brunch, Weekend Feasts, Quick-fix Feasts, Vegetarian Feasts, Summer Feasts, Lighter Feasts, Special Occasions and Comfort Food. All the dishes are Middle Easternleaning but Ghayour is not bound by tradition in terms of ingredients, so many of the recipes may not immediately scream “Middle East” – think cheddar and feta frittata, quinoa patties with pomegranate molasses and yoghurt, or blueberry, lime and ginger cheesecakes. What the recipes have in common is that they’re all bright, fun and flavourpacked, and while the title may conjure up labour-intensive dinner-party food, the majority of the recipes in here are casual and totally achievable.
